If the Shoe Fits...

Happy Halloween!  It's been a crazy week and I am so looking forward to seeing all the little costumed critters that will grace the doorstop this evening...
The princess in sparkle shoes and the Ninja ...."strike a pose!"
Checking out the houses all decked out with spooky ghosts, pumpkins and ghoulish decor...
My little man so proud of his ghost tree.
Here's to a wonderfully spooky night and hoping that the only witches we encounter are not riding their brooms...

"Let me show you to your table"...

I love tables and I'm always looking for the unique.  There is so much personality in a table.  The colors, the legs, the tops...all of these details make me swoon...
Love this pink lady!
Check out these legs!

And the rebel on wheels!

Autumn Days

It seems like this time of year it's all rushing all the time.  I wish I could move at slower pace so that I could enjoy the changing leaves and the autumn weather.  It's always been my favorite time of year...
I love all the fall decorations.  The way the wind blows the leaves and amazing colors of the autumn trees.

The holiday planning for the upcoming family feast is always lingering on my mind..

The smell of burning wood in the fireplaces and hot coffee to warm me up...

I love everything about Autumn.  Now I just need to find time to slow down and not let it slip by...

Fluttering from the autumn tree."

I am linking up to Common Ground Vintage Inspiration Friday.  Just found this blog and the table in her latest post is absolutely amazing!

A Bushel and A Peck

So many lovely things to look at.  I often find myself getting lost in the beauty of all the items in the Bushel and A Peck Etsy store.  So this morning I read a blog about the new collection and I just had to share.
I'm a "bag lady" so these wonderful lovelies are just up my alley!  And even better there's a drawing and you can win a $200.00 Gift Certificate!  Go check A Bushel and A Peck.  There are just so many things to see!

Windows of Creativity

I have a love of old windows.  And I often find myself "rescuing" these lovelies from curb side garbage piles.  Recently I was offered a pile of windows and just couldn't resist.  So this weekend I spent my time cleaning up this beauties.  While admiring the vast variety of multi-pane and single paned styles my mind began to reel with ideas of how to display each of them or repurpose them.  And since I'm only limited to my own creativity and imagination I thought I'd ask you...

What is your favorite way to use old windows?  Where do you display them?  What projects do you use them for?

"Our senses are indeed our doors and windows on this world, in a very real sense the key to unlocking of meaning and the wellspring of creativity" ~Jean Houston

"People are like stained - glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within." ~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

I am attempting my first link up post so bear with me.  My computer skills are not one to admire!  Here goes....

Lovely Vintage Linen Lavender Pillows

I am so drawn to vintage linen.  I love the details.  The simple loveliness of the needle work is just so beautiful.  But so often the truly loved linens have stains and holes from past lives and are overlooked.  Since I can't stand to see such beauty go to waste I decided to salvage as much of these linens as possible and since I don't sew well I had to enlist a friend to help me.  And this is what she came up with...

Lovely Lavender Sachets and Pillows.  They are so yummy smelling....
I so love the way they turned out...each one unique...
And the idea that what might have been tossed out due to damage has now found a life again is even better!

I'm new to link parties but hoping to link this to I Love Pretty Little ThingsFunky Junk Interiors and The Answer is Chocolate. Just discovered these lovely blogs!

For the Love of Cabinets...

I have a love of cabinets.  I don't know what the deal is but I'm drawn to them.  Lately I've found quite a few I had to bring back to the shop.  I thought I'd let them speak for themselves.
I love the buttery yellow.

The interior of this is the sweetest pale pink.

This one is made with reclaimed wood and old window....love it!

Perfect Pantry...lots of shelves and even a drawer on the bottom.

Harvest Gathering

What a wonderful day!  This was my first experience and involvement in putting on a show and it was such a great time.  I loved seeing the creativity of all the wonderful vendors that displayed at the show.  There were so many treasures to discover and I'm sure I could've spent lots more time browsing but I had to work!  Here are a few of the wonderful items...

I didn't get a chance to take pictures of all the vendors.  One of the ones I missed was Poverty Hills.  They grow the most amazing pumpkins and gourds, if you have a few minutes check out their blog for future market dates.  All in all I'd say the show went off like a Dream...

Adventures of the Tiny Shopkeeper

I've mentioned my daughter before in posts.  She is the third generation shopkeeper and she is highly invested in the store.  We lovely call her Tiny Shopkeeper.
So this week since we were particularly busy she often provided the comic relief we needed to diffuse some stressful moments.  She is such a kick,  she "goes along" with just about anything.  This week we scoured the barn for finds while she unsuccessfully tried to corral the kitty cats.

While we drooled over eye candy such as this lovely arrangement of red and green kitchen goodies.  Her excited squeal could be heard for miles when she came across these pink wooden blocks...
And as we worked away at the shop this week trying to get it ready for the Harvest Gathering Show, Tiny Shopkeeper was right by us.  She helped, she made us laugh and she did it all in her Tutu and "sparkle" shoes!
